STARTER: Have a look at the picture you chose to use in yesterday's lesson. Put yourself inside the picture and think about your senses. Create a quick mind map, like the example below.
TASK: Today we are going to create some expanded noun phrases, using the nouns that you have written in your mind map.
EXAMPLE: When I look at my picture, I can hear...
My expanded noun phrases:
- the melodic tweets of the beautiful, blue birds
- calm, trickling stream
- whistling wind through the evergreen trees
Have a go at creating an expanded noun phrase for every noun on your mind map! You could use a thesaurus or google to search for ambitious adjectives!
