Using adjectives

TASK 1: Improve the adjectives

"The nice island was covered with tall, green trees and surrounded by the big, blue ocean."

This sentence could be so much better if we improved the adjectives!

Rewrite each of the sentences with more interesting adjectives. You  could use a thesaurus or google to find synonyms.

"As quick as a flash, the happy dog bounded along the soft, green grass." 

"Magnificently, the pretty, yellow bird soared through the air as fast as a speedy cheetah. 

TASK 2: Changing the meaning using adjectives 

Adjectives can also be used to change the meaning of a sentence.

Example:

My best friend is extremely funny.

My best friend is extremely shy. 

Have a go at writing out the sentences below with two different adjectives, in order to change the meaning. 

1. The monster had a very ________ face. 
   The monster had a very ________ face. 

2. The ________ car rushed down the race track. 
    The ________ car rushed down the race track. 

3. The _______ monkey swung between the _______ trees. 
    The _______ monkey swung between the _______ trees.
