Fronted Adverbials
Fronted adverbials are used to describe, when, where or how something is happening. They go at the FRONT of a sentence. 

EXAMPLE:
1. Early in the morning, the fluffy, white seal slid into the chilly water. 
2. From a sheet of ice, the fluffy, white seal slid into the chilly water. 
3. Elegantly, the fluffy, white seal slid into the chilly water. 

YOUR TURN: 
Add a fronted adverbial phrase to each of the sentences. Challenge yourself by using more than one fronted adverbial.

 1. The pilot guided the plane through the sky, as the sun rose above the clouds.

2. The furious waves smashed against the derelict lighthouse.

3. The motivated rugby players reached for the muddy ball.

4. The huge hippo waited for his prey to emerge from the murky water.

5. Robin Hood drew back the arrow and aimed at the target in the distance.
